Our Story

Sometimes love springs up in the strangest of places, including the Political Science office at Rhodes College. Lindsey and Charlie meet while they were both employed as student workers in the Political Science Department at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. They got to know each other in the office, and, eventually, Lindsey succumbed to Charlie’s charm. On September 15, 2001, the couple went on their first date, and their relationship began to blossom.Charlie graduated from Rhodes College in May 2003, and in August 2003, he began law school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, home of the mighty Volunteers. While Charlie was toiling away in law school, Lindsey took classes and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in May 2005. The following year, Charlie graduated from law school and spent his summer studying for the Tennessee Bar Exam. As the fall approached, Lindsey and Charlie purchased their first season of Tennessee football tickets. Fall also brought exciting news for the couple as Charlie passed the Tennessee Bar and was hired by Allen, Kopet & Associates, PLLC in Jackson, Tennessee. The two packed their bags and moved back west. A glutton for punishment, Charlie agreed to take the Mississippi Bar in the summer of 2007. In a recurring theme, the fall once again brought good news because Charlie passed the Mississippi Bar Exam and Lindsey began taking classes to obtain her Masters in History at the University of Memphis. The couple yearned for the bigger city, and in March 2008, they once again moved, returning to the city of Memphis after a long absence. After seven years, Charlie and Lindsey became engaged on December 25, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Lindsey graduated with her Master’s Degree in May 2009 and is now employed as an administrator at the University of Memphis. Charlie just recently changed law firms and is now an attorney with Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, PLLC in Memphis, Tennessee. The two have shared eight wonderful years together and will be wed in the city where they meet and fell in love on October 17, 2009.
